Charla Trestle Table with Extension Leaves

Charla Trestle Table with Extension Leaves
We all know that all chairs are not created equal, but a table is just a table, right?! At WILLEM SMITH we politely but emphatically took issue with that and voila, we present the Charla. First, it had to look terrific. We designed the Charla based on a time-proven trestle architecture but then added some of our signature élan. Second, it had to be well-built. So we didn’t skimp on materials, using only sustainably-harvested Appalachian woods that were then transformed into our Charla by skilled West Virginian hands. Third, our table – as with our seating – had to exceed our piErgonom-comfort standard as well as be imbued with our thought-through ethos.
What does that mean? For starters, no matter how many gather ‘round, getting stuck with a leg in the way is a thing of the past. Similarly, leaves warped from being stored vertically in the closet is also a dinosaur phenomenon since the Charla conveniently nests them, flat, under the table top.
